The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia received $ 30.4 million in support


The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia has signed a $ 30.4 million grant agreement with US Agency for International Development (USAID).

The support agreement was signed by Ms. Birtukan Mideksa, Chair of the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia and USID Director Sean Jones in Ethiopia.

The support is said to be used to support the Board’s efforts to conduct the next national elections in a fair, credible and democratic manner.

Chairperson of the Ethiopian National Electoral Board, Ms. Birtukan Mideksa, said the support would help the board’s efforts to successfully run the next national elections.

He added that the board is undertaking various activities to make the election credible. More support is needed to make the effort successful.

USID Director Sean Jones for Ethiopia said that the United States would provide a variety of support, including technical and human resources development for the Board.
