Ashebir Balcha is assigned executive for Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation


The Board of Managers of Electric Power has named Ashebir Balcha, executive officer, electricity generation structure, as principal executive officer substituting Abraham Belay who became the Minister of Innovation and Technology.

Ashebir Balcha was operating Ethiopian Electric Power from 2004 on at different capacities. Ashebir a mechanical engineer by profession began his company with the prior Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo), in Gembi-Mendi-Assosa energy transmission building undertaking. In addition, he served as chief mechanical engineer in the Tekeze Hydro Power project.

Between 2012-2019, Ashebir functioned as project director of this Geba hydro-power undertaking. Since October 2019 he had been executive officer of energy generation structure. Ashebir studied mechanical engineering in the ArbaMinch University and MBA in Greenwich University.

In associated information Ethiopian Electric Power held a farewell celebration for its prior CEO Abraham Belay (PhD). Abraham successfully directed the reform program in the Electric Power because August 2018. Abraham is notorious for taking bold action to flip round the debt-ridden Ethiopian Electric Power.

Abraham is famous for solving the complex problem of Good Renaissance Dam (GERD) and bringing the dam structure back to monitor. In addition, he solved the fiscal restriction that Koisha hydro-power job along with also the Aisha wind farm job.

Girma Birru, former board chairman of Ethiopian Electric, given over a plaque for Abraham. Abraham has become the board chairman of Ethiopian Electric.
